President attends Buddhathva Jayanthi in Thailand
President Mahinda Rajapaksa will attend the opening ceremony of the Buddhathva Jayanthi, the celebrations of 2600 years of Buddha’s Enlightenment in Thailand tomorrow as a special invitee.
He will also deliver a speech on the effects of Buddha’s Enlightenment for the wellbeing of humanity on Saturday. During his visit to Thailand, the President will hold bilateral talks with Thai Prime Minister, Yingluck Shina- watra.
President Rajapaksa who is on a four day visit to Thailand as a guest of the Royal Thai Government arrived at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand early yesterday.
