Rizana's case: Court objects to bail for suspect

Senior State Counsel Dileepa Pieris objected to grant bail to an accused charged for trafficking Rizana Nafeek, who was sentenced to beheading by a Saudi court allegedly for killing an infant by choking, by forging documents to Saudi Arabia.

During the inquiry into the bail application filed by Attorney-At-Law Nishmi Godallawatte, Counsel M Shahid appearing for the accused Thambi Lebbe Abdul Salam moved to release him on bail.

State Counsel Dileepa Pieris objected to bail and ordered to remand the accused further as the case would be taken up for hearing.
