Singaporean Foreign Minister visits Lanka
Singaporean Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam was scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka last night as a follow up to a state visit by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Singapore in February this year, Ministry of External Affairs said.Speaking to the Daily Mirror, officials said the minister would engage in bilateral discussions with government officials including Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L Peiris, Minister of Justice Rauff Hakeem and President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He will be visiting several parts of the country including Trincomalee and Jaffna to observe the progress made in the island after the war. He would also have discussions with officials in those areas regarding economic, political and cultural developments.
