STRUDEL PROMO

Apromotion of Strudel at The Colombo Hilton included a demonstration of strudel by a Chef specially flown in from Vienna. Apple Strudel is one of my favourite pastries and I watched with interest as he made it. He threw the pastry around like our local cooks do with Gothamba, but when baked it was pastry that melted in the mouth. As I chatted to the chef, memories of Vienna flooded my mind. It is one of my favourite European capitals, a perfect blending of past glories and present; steeped in history, music and dreams with the pristine cleanliness of Germany without the military like discipline. The people are delightful, helpful and friendly and the food divine..Among those enjoying the strudel were Swarna Amaratunge and Harshini Struys.
