Before the commencement of the game both teams were unbeaten and the winners had the opportunity of finishing on top and the Rajans achieved this in style under the captaincy of winger Miyuru Hewawasam and were coached by former Sri Lanka Army and full back Nimal Wijesiri.

Rajans opened scoring in the 8th minute of the first half when No. 8 Lochana Ekanayake sent a short pass to flanker Malinda Herath who scored mid left and full back Tilina Wijesinghe added the extra points.

But the Wesleyites kept their chances alive when their forwards charged and their prop forward Gayan Udara fell over near the posts and scrum half Rahula De Silva added the extra points.

The Rajans took control of the game from here to score 28 more points while conceding none to maintain their fine record of scoring 480 points during the season.

They scored tries through winger Lochana Fernando (2), skipper and centre Miyuru Hewawasam and full back Tilina Wijesinghe who once again displayed the prowess with the kicking boots by goalling two more tries and also converting three penalties, thus contributing 15 points with his kicking boots.
