Adyapana 2012 to be held in October

-

Adyapana 2012, Sri Lanka’s most focused and career oriented exhibition will be held this year for the seventh consecutive time from October 5 to 7, 2012 at the BMICH. The Batticaloa arm of the exhibition is to be held from October 12 to 14, while the Jaffna exhibition is scheduled to be held from January 18 to 20, 2013.

The exhibition, which has been endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education has over the years witnessed an unprecedented interest from parents and students alike from all parts of the island, mainly due to its highly focused exhibitors, providing students with unparalleled access and exposure to the wide world of secondary and tertiary education. The term ‘adyapana’ itself has been looked upon as a term that has broken all boundaries existent within the country, thus attracting keen and eager students from the length and breadth of the island bringing them under one roof to further their dreams of a solid and recognized future.

The exhibition is held during the month of October and over the years the timing has proved vital for many students around the island as it coincides with the completion of the Advanced Level Examination. The natural tendency of many students and parents during this period is to ensure that all options available in higher education are explored with many students taking firm decisions as to their future during this period as well.

The exhibition organised by the Presidential awardwinning Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS) has over the years provided the most focused platform for both educationist and students alike.

“Adyapana has over the years built a solid reputa- tion of being the most career oriented education exhibition provider. The number of students that have used the ‘Adyapana’ pathway to further their careers bears witness to this fact. Even this year, we will attract a focused student and parent group to our exhibition thus, resulting in high turnover rates for the education institutions and fast tracked career progress for the students,” LECS Director Imran Hassan said.

The very fact that the exhibition has ensured that over 180,000 students from the length and breath of the island have taken their ‘passport to the future’ at ‘Adyapana’ bears ample testimony to the exhibition’s result focus.

The exhibition provides exhibitors an ideal opportunity to create brand awareness among the general student population and parents who will be visiting the fair to explore career options for themselves and the children.

David Samuel speaking on behalf of the Australian Trade Commission said, “Austrade wishes to support Australian education providers to showcase its education capabilities for Sri Lankan students who are looking forward to study in Australia. Austrade has been working with LECS for the last three years and our objective is to continue profile and enhance Australia as an education destination.”

Speaking further Samuel noted that the excellence displayed by Lankan students in the past has been a motivating factor for the Australian Trade Commission to partner in the Lankan students endeavors.

The exhibition will also provide the exhibitors a comprehensive opportunity to analyze the Lanka student market and cater to their ever growing needs and demands. The vast array of national and international institutions scheduled to be a part of the exhibition will most definitely attract a wider audience towards the exhibition. Leading universities and higher education institutes from the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Nepal and Singapore among many others will provide the Sri Lankan students with a distinct and clear platform to explore the best in the education the world has to offer them.
