PRIYANJAN STEERS MOORS TO THIRD SUCCESSIVE WIN

Ashan Priyanjan slammed an unbeaten 150 which laid the foundation for Moors to record their third successive outright win in as many matches with a massive 202 run win over Bloomfield in their Under 23 inter-club cricket encounter concluded at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Ashan’s swashbuckl­ing knock came off just 137 balls which comprised 13 boundaries and seven sixes enabling Moors to resume their second innings on their overnight score of 187 for 4 make a formidable score of 276 for 6 declared. This left Bloomfield a mammoth target of 353 runs for victory. Spinners Shehan Jayasuriya and Maduka Liyanapath­irana combined to bundle out Bloomfield for 150 runs.

Tamil Union after conceding a first innings lead to BRC struck back to record an outright win by 33 runs in the Under 23 match concluded at the P. Sara Stadium yesterday.
