Popular actress and tele drama producer Rohani Weerasingh­e is planning to produce a new film with a different approach.

Two new tele dramas produced by her are expected to unfurl on the small screen soon.

“Diyathaka Senehasa produced by S. Ramesh and directed by Sunil Premakumar­a is now ready for telecast soon. I was the executive producer of the project. The tele drama features Rochelle Fernando, Pubudu Gamage, Nishani Gamage, myself, Vinoja Nilanthi, Vishaka Siriwardan­a, Ananda Athukorale and others. My own production ‘Thusharaye­n Diya Dothak’ features Sanath Wimalasiri, Indika Upamali, Maureen Charuni, myself, Vinoja Nilanthi, Asela Jayakody, Niroshan Illeperuma, Hemantha Eriyagama, Chamila Peiris, Mihira Sirithilak­a, Mahinda Pathirage and others,” Rohani said.

The actress who is now seen in Malee, said her main aim was to promote talented youngsters to the tele drama scene together with veterans. "Newcomers should realise that they can reach the top bracket only through commitment and dedication. They should also respect senior artistes,” she said.

Commenting on mega tele dramas Rohani said it has become an essential part in today’s lifestyle, but appealed to television channels to accommodat­e more feature tele dramas.

Rohani who also played Tani in Sergeantge Nendamma, says she hopes to make a comeback with a good role soon.

Rohani who has played a variety of roles in various film and tele drama projects also sings in the Star Musical programme organised by Oshadi Randiv who takes the show to all parts of the country.
