DULANJANA GUIDES NAVY TO SHOCKING WIN
A fine spell of bowlling to capture 7 for 75 by spinner Dulanjana Mendis helped Navy record a shocking 31 runs win over fancied Moors in their Under 23 inter-club cricket encounter concluded at Welisara yesterday.
Moors chasing a simple target of 137 runs for victory resuming on their overnight score of 87 for 6 found Mendis too hot to handle as succumbed to a score of just 105 runs.
Navy’s came back into the game after being shot out for just 65 in the first innings and then giving Moors a first inning lead of 147 runs. Navy’s batsmen clicked in the second innings thanks to half tons from Duleeka Tissakuttige, Yoshan Kumara and Chanaka Ruwansiri before Dulanjana guided them to victory.
