Sujani Menaka who has proven her talent as an actress from her childhood is still remembered by the masses for her role in the NSB commercial ‘Sathen Sathe’. She is known by many as the ‘Sathen Sathe’ actress even today.

Sujani who is married to award-winning actor Bimal Jayakody, is known for humble qualities in the glamour field.
In a brief interview with Impulse, Sujani said she was excited about the best actor’s Raigam award her husband received recently.
“I know how much he dedicates himself to give his best to any project. I am so happy for him. I was just ten when I was chosen for that ‘Sathen Sathe’ ad. It was telecast for several years and that made me a household name. My father was an art director in the film industry, so there so many film personalities who visited our home for various matters. It was such a meeting that paved the way for me to act in Dr. Lester James Peries’ ‘Prarthana’ tele drama as a three-year-old. I have so far acted in about 100 tele dramas,” said Sujani.
Award-wise, Sujani has won a few awards including the Sarasaviya, OCIC and Raigam. Among her popular tele dramas are Sara and Damini while she acted in films like Kedapathaka Chaya and Kulageya too.
“I never had big dreams. I want to lead a simple life. I curtailed my acting assignments after marriage because I wanted to play the role of a good wife in real life,” said Sujani.
“I NEVER HAD BIG DREAMS. I WANT TO LEAD A SIMPLE LIFE. I CURTAILED MY ACTING ASSIGNMENTS AFTER MARRIAGE BECAUSE I WANTED TO PLAY THE ROLE OF A GOOD WIFE IN REAL LIFE,”
