Examinations coordination officer neglects duties
An Examinations Coordinating Centre Chief in Ratnapura District had neglected examination duty last week by participating in an election campaign meeting attended by a VVIP, Ceylon Teachers Service Union (CTSU) alleged.
According to CTSU General Secretary Mahinda Jayasinghe, the coordinating centre chief had been absent from duty one whole day. “One would expect that he should take his responsibilities and duties gravely as he is also the Principal of a leading school in the district,” Mr. Jayasinghe said.
However, Examinations Commissioner W. M. J. Pushpakumara said they have not received any complaints regarding such an incident and added the accusations are dubious.

Commissioner Pushpakumara however said any official who has neglected examination duties will be interdicted from his/her position if the charges are proved through an investigation.
