TRCSL to host ITU Global Symposium

The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) will be hosting the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) 12th Global Symposium for Regulators and the Regulatory Association Meeting to be held in Colombo from October 1 to 4, 2012. Approximately 450500 delegates are expected to attend this annual global symposium, including representatives from the 193 member states of the ITU, other dignitaries, telecoms industry leaders and telecoms market regulators from around the world.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will inaugurate the GSR 12. The main conference programme will take place from October 2 to 4, 2012 at the Colombo Hilton Hotel.

The event will be open to the media on October 2 until 13:30, including an opening press conference with the principals (exact timing to be confirmed).

Please note that accreditation will close on Friday September 21 and there will be no accreditation onsite. For security reasons, media may not enter without an official event
