CL Synergy goes beyond home waters to India

CL Synergy recently announced the opening of its new office in India – CL Synergy India (Pvt) Ltd.

CL synergy is a fully-fledged Sri Lankan freight forwarding company establishe­d in 2004 and has since grown to be group of companies with vertical and horizontal diversific­ations. The group consists of three other freight forwarding arms, specializi­ng in their own markets. They are namely Eagle Logistics Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, ASB Freight (Pvt) Ltd and CLS Consolidat­ors (Pvt) Ltd.

According to Managing Director, Roshan Silva, the objective of setting up in India is twofold, “Firstly, extend the locally available 3PL service standards to our existing and potential global customers and agents. At present it has been a common phenomenon that global customers and agents demand a regional logistics solution which is Sri Lankan specific. Thus, CL Synergy is already in control of a continuous, sustainabl­e deal flow in and out of India.

Secondly, India being in the top 10 economies of the world, having a GDP growth of more than 8%, has become a very strong and essential component in present global trade. India’s presence in the global trade in the next decade will certainly be phenomenal. We foresee many opportunit­ies in the Indian market that could be exploited with careful and deliberate specific cautious business strategies. CL Synergy envisages in bringing a new dimension to the IndoLanka trade lane in the near future” said Silva. Our expansion into the Indian market was a deep thought decision; our goal is to establish the CL synergy brand in India and in the region. “Our local customers and network partners have pledged their support which is a great strength to this venture” he further said.

CL Synergy will bring the company’s well establishe­d expertise with a broad range of services, strengthen­ing CL Synergy’s presence in the East Asian region with effect from 1st June 2012. The CL Synergy India, Director Oswald Anandappa in a briefing stated “India is a very lucrative market place in the subcontine­nt, with much importance for the Sri Lankan freight industry and trade as a whole”. He further went on to say “Being a veteran in the Indian freight forwarding industry, I understand the Indian market movement and with the correct strategies CL synergy will be able to capture a considerab­le market share in no time”.

“Headquarte­red in Chennai and with offices spanning Mumbai, New Delhi, Tuticorin, Kolkata and Cochin our plans are to gradually expand our operations covering the business demands of all other cities.”

CL Synergy (Pvt) Limited is a 3PL logistics provider who provides value added services for customer specific requiremen­ts, through its in partnershi­p concept CLSynergy has integrated itself with customers and have taken over theentire logistics functions of the customer. This has enabled CL Synergy to perform an extensive and detailed tasks for them.

Attesting the service stand- ards, CL Synergy was recognized by the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) in the year 2008 and 2010 by been awarded the Silver and Bronze Award in the large company category for service providers to exporters. With operations spanning over 8 years the company has made its mark in the local freight forwarding arena.
