‘The Issue of Sovereignt­y in a Changing World Order’

The third informal discussion of the IR Evenings will take place on Friday, 7 September from 5.30 p.m. onwards at the Classroom 7-106 at the BCIS.

The session will be on ‘The issue of Sovereignt­y in a changing World Order’ and will be conducted by Dr. Rohan Perera.

Dr. Rohan Perera, P.C. was the Legal Advisor of the Foreign Ministry and a member of Internatio­nal Law Commission. Dr. Perera has served for over 30 years in the Foreign Ministry. He was the chairman of the UN ad-hoc Committee on Measures to Eliminate Internatio­nal Terrorism which recently concluded the Inter- national Convention on the Suppressio­n of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.

Dr. Perera also served as a member of the group of legal advisors and constituti­onal experts appointed by the President to advice the All Party Representa­tives Committee on a constituti­onal framework. He was a member of LLRC Commission as well.

The event is open to the public. All former students of BCIS are also.
