Pradeep Sanjaya wins bronze medal
Sri Lanka's Pradeep Sanjaya won the first medal ever for Sri
Lanka at the Paralympics by winning the Bronze medal in the Men’s 400m T46 event at the London Paralympics 2012.
Pradeep Sanjaya of the Sri Lanka Army finshed the event with timing of 49.28 seconds.
He is an old boy of Gampaha Mirigama Delwala College. He is married to K.A.D Ramani and has one son U. P Kaveesha (born on June 28, 2012 Better known as Pradeep Sanjaya, he resides in Mirigama and he is paralysed in the left hand. He was injured whilst doing a humanitarian operation in Kilinochchi on December 28, 2008 due to mortar blast
Uggaldeni Pathiranalage Pradeep Sanjaya, a Sinha Regiment soldier of the Sri Lanka Army bagged the Bronze in 400m at the London Paralympic Games bringing honour to the country. His achievement is a pride for the Sri Lanka Army as well. This is the first medal that Sri Lanka has won at the London Paralympic Games.

2011 Army Para Games:
400m - 1st Place; 200m: 1st Place; Army 4 x 100 - 1st Place (New Army Record).
2012 Selection Trials for Olympic Games (Malaysia - Kuala Lampur): 200m
22.98: 1st Place (New Asian Record); 400m 50.56 1st Place; 2012 Army Para Games - 400m - 1st Place; - 200m - 1st Place; - 4 x 100 - 2nd Place. Currently participating in the 2012 Para Olympic Games in London, England.
