Lanka Mirror: PCs in tug o’ war

Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna Alwis yesterday reserved his order for September 18 to consider the release of computers that were taken by the CID from the Sri Lanka Mirror website to its owners.

Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma appearing for the eight suspects of the Sri Lanka Mirror moved to release the computers to the owners since the Attorney General had consented to release them as long as the contents in the hard disk were not manipulated or doctored by the suspects. The counsel asked court to seal the computers and hand them over to the owners since they were expensive items and keeping them in court or police custody would cause damage to them.
