South African delegation arrives in Sri Lanka
The Deputy Economic Development Minister of South Africa Prof. Hiengiwe Bulile Mkhize and a delegation of 31 other high ranking officials arrived in the island yesterday afternoon.
The arriving guests were warmly welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport by her local counterpart in Sri Lanka Minister Luxman Yapa Abeywardene.
The purpose of this visit is to foster the bilateral relationship that exists between the two countries and also to explore possibilities of investments in Sri Lanka.
The South African delegation would stay in the country for five days and are scheduled to meet the Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakse and a few other ministers. In addition, they would also travel to Jaffna and other areas to observe the development schemes in progress.
The attention of both countries are also focused on urban constructions, agriculture and tourism.
