Guardian to offer affordable insurance solutions

Guardian Insurance Brokers have been appointed exclusive agents in Sri Lanka for Aetna, a foremost medical Insurance company in the USA. AETNA, a Fortune 500 company, with a track record of 159 years in the Insurance business, presently serves over 36 million customers worldwide. It has over 1 million healthcare personnel and over 5,000 hospitals in its global network.

Fortune Magazine named Aetna, as the Most Admired Company in the US in the Healthcare: Insurance and Managed Care Category in three of the last four years. Aetna was also honoured in the Internatio­nal Benefits Provider category in the Forum of Expatriate Management in the last two years. `

Guardian Insurance Brokers board is chaired by SK Wickremesi­nghe, one of Sri Lanka’s most well respected business personalit­ies. Wickremesi­nghe has previously headed companies such as CIC, Commercial Bank, NDB, Sri Lankan Airlines, Ceylon Tobacco, CTC Eagle Insurance, Hayleys, Jetwing and was also Sri Lanka’s High Commission­er to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Others on the board include Swiss based top pharmaceut­ical executive Dr. Kandeepan Ganeshalin­gam, marketing specialist Anik Jayasekera and Rohan Goonewarde­ne serves as the Managing Director of the Company.

Shane Peters, General Manager Operations for Guardian Insurance Brokers said that they have already helped facilitate for Aetna, the largest network of hospitals and nursing homes in Sri Lanka for Direct Settlement for inpatient and outpatient treatment. These include Asiri Group of Hospitals, Durdans, Hemas Hospital, Lanka Hospitals, Nawaloka , Oasis and the Joseph Frazer nursing home.
