SAIF- KAREENA WEDDING OF THE YEAR

The two had been in love for five years and finally tied the knot on october 16.

They may not be like the Montagues and Capulets as in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

but they are the Kapoors and Khans in Bollywood. Kareena - daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita, grand daughter of showman Raj Kapoor and great grand daughter of Prithiviraj Kapoor tied the knot with a Khan.

Saif Ali Khan - son of late Mansur Ali Khan (formerly the Nawab of Pataudi) also known as Tiger Pataudi for his prowess in the cricket field and Sharmila Tagore an actress of no mean repute.

The two had been in love for five years and finally tied the knot on October16. Kareena will be henceforth known as Kareena Kapoor Khan adding two powerful surnames, and her first film under the two surnames will be “Talaash” an Amir Khan starrer. Amir had said he had no problems in her using the new name.

Kareena is 32 and Saif 42. He was earlier married to Amrita Singh. They have a son and daughter. The family of the bride, father Randhir Kapoor, mother Babita, sister Karisma Kapoor, Rishi and wife Neetu Singh and their son Ranbir Kapoor, Rajiv and Shashi Kapoor and Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan attended the bash.

Saif’s daughter Saara and son Ibrahim of his first marriage too were at the glittering marriage ceremony, which was attended by Bollywood’s galaxy of star friends of both the bride and groom. Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri, Ratan Tata, Karan Johar, Priety Zinta, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Salman Khan’s sister Alvira and many others.

Four hotels and a helipad were booked for the occasion. The party at Taj Mahal Hotel

followed a registered marriage at Saif’s residence in Bandra. It is reliably learnt a Nikah ceremony was also held.
