INJURED AJANTHA MENDIS OUT, THARINDU KAUSHAL THE NEW FACE

Ajantha Mendis has been excluded from the Sri Lanka T20 and ODI squads due to the injury he sustained at the recently concluded ICC World T20 cricket tournament held in Sri Lanka.
The selectors have name Angelo Mathews to lead the Sri Lanka team with Nuwan Kulasekera as his deputy for the one off T20 encounter against New Zealand which is scheduled to be played on October 30 at the Pallekele Stadium.

Meanwhile in the ODI’s in which Mahela Jayawardena will lead side the selectors have inclu- ded a newcomer in Tharindu Kaushal who hails from the Southern Province and was a member of the Sri Lanka Under 19 team which participated at the World Youth Under 19 tournament earlier this year.
Also included in the ODI squad is Akila Dananjaya who is tipped to make his debut in this format of the game which is sched- uled to begin with the first match on November 1 at the Pallekele Stadium.- MSA
