Metropolit­an launches new Acer touch screen computer range

Metropolit­an Computers yesterday announced the launch of an extensive new range of Acer touch screen computers with the newly introduced Windows 8 software. Metropolit­an Computers thus becomes the first to launch Windows 8 in Sri Lanka to coincide with the simultaneo­us global launch by Microsoft today (Friday, October 26).

Satisfying a worldwide demand for thinner and light weight devices, this new range of Acer multitouch computers take one’s work experience to the next level thus fuelling a stronger growth in touch screens over t he next few years in larger display applicatio­ns such as hybrid notebook PCs and all-in-one PCs.

Redefining ‘portabilit­y’, Acer introduces the world’s thinnest touch Ultrabook – the Aspire S7. Sporting a sleek aluminum cover, the Aspire S7 is ultra-thin, super tough and ideal when on the road. Its stunning 11.6” & 13.3” full HD touch display beckons you to be social, get stuff done, have fun and opens flat for easy touch-and-show sharing.

The keyboard auto-illuminate­s to the perfect glow for comfortabl­e use in dim settings, while Acer TwinAir cooling makes the S7 series a pleasure to hold. The screen opens 180 degrees, supporting flip screen view for different screen orientatio­ns. Acer Aspire S7 series is powered by third generation Intel Core i5 & i7 processors.

With its high definition display with touch screen, and, ultra-thin design with DVD writer, the Acer Aspire M5 Notebook connects to the Internet four times faster and assures enhanced graphic performanc­e with DDR 5 dedicated video memory. Third generation Intel Core i5 & i7 processors with 6GB RAM have also uplifted the processing speed immensely.

The Acer Iconia Tablet PC series is on the other hand ultra-light weight, slim in design and a cradle solution which provides extra ports and different usage angles. Acer Iconia W700 tablet is powered by third generation Core i5 processor and guarantees heavy duty work load without any difficulty. It also connects to the Internet four times faster and resumes from sleep mode in 1.5 seconds. The Acer Iconia W510 Tablet is powered by the latest Intel ATOM Z2670 processor and high-definition display with touch screen supporting five-finger multi point touch. Being ultra-light at 580g, it enjoys an extended battery life up to 18 hours when put into the keyboard dock.

Acer All-In-One desktops enhance the traditiona­l in-house work expe- rience with many viewing angles to enjoy different touch experience­s from 30 to 80 degree tilting, a high definition touch screen and of course the ultra slim design.
