INDIA ASSURES SRI LANKA OF CONTINUING DIALOGUE
Priests meet Indian HC regarding nuclear plant
India has assured Sri Lanka that it would continue its dialogue with the Sri Lankan politicians and civil society on the Kudankulam nuclear plant.

Mr. Kantha had promised to give additional details of the waste disposal methods and continue the dialogue with the Sri Lankan politicians
Commissioner in Sri Lanka, had given this assurance on behalf of the Indian government when a delegation from several opposition political parties, civil society leaders and religious leaders met him for a discussion on the proposed plant. Those who were in the Sri Lankan delegation were Democratic People’s Front (DPF) leader Mano Ganesan, United Socialist Party (USP) leader Siritunga Jayasooriya, journalist Kusal Perera, DPF assistant general secretary S. Kuhavaradan, joint secretary of the FTZ trade unions Anton Marcus and Mannar vicar general Jeyabalan Croos (who represented Mannar Bishop Rayappu Joseph).

A memorandum addressed to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had been sent to the high commissioner earlier.
Speaking to the media on the discussions, DPF leader Mano Ganesan said the delegation had made particular queries on three issues concerning Sri Lanka.
