The understated entrance of Villa 14 contradicts its distinctive features but what is most remarkable is how the scenic view is incorporated into every aspect of the villa. At the doorway your eyes are drawn across the entrance passage, past the paved square courtyard to the grand, contemporary living area, dramatically framing a pool and the lotus flower encrusted Bolgoda Lake.
The Villa 14 has six rooms which are uniquely designed to connect guests with nature and have been named after flowers native to Sri Lanka. The standard rooms are Rathu Nelum and Sudhu Nelum. The interior décor gives you the feel of understated elegance and comfort while the outdoor showers stay true to the nature theme.
The Superior Lake View rooms known as Olu and Kekitiya, located on the top floor have the best views of the Bolgoda Lake. The focus of these rooms is the beds which have been artfully placed to provide guests the luxury of waking up to the sight of lotus flowers in full bloom over the lake every morning.
The studio suite which has two rooms interconnected is poignantly named Manel. All rooms are air conditioned and equipped with necessary facilities such as running hot/cold water. Moreover the entire Villa is Wi-fi enabled.
“Villa 14 does not serve buffet style, instead an in-house chef will customise menus to suite everyone. Guests can avail themselves to a breakfast on the sunrise deck overlooking the Lake, lunch by the pool deck and dinner in an open courtyard area,” stated Fiona Mendis, General Manger of Villa 14.
Meals can be arranged at any time of the day and served in the comfort of their room or even while sailing in a pontoon. All are served by a personal butler who is assigned to each guest at the villa.

Room rates at Villa 14 range from USD 250 upwards depending on the accommodation types and basis of the rooms chosen.
Meanwhile tours and excursions can be arranged for guests on prior request. Activities like jet skiing, canoeing, boat rides, sailing, rowing, fishing, jet surfing, fishing, lake and sea excursions are just some of them. For tourists arriving from the airport, transfers could be arranged with prior notice.
