Mother of triplets appeals for life

-

Life is so unpredictable and the most unexpected events in life could happen when you are totally unprepared.

30-year-old Mrs. Hashina Sally thought that she was the luckiest woman on earth when she gave birth to triplets 8 years ago.

Hashina was extra passionate about life and took great pride in looking after her humble family. Her children are grade three students at St. Sebastian's College, Enderamulla.

But the biggest devastating and shocking news came to her about two months ago when she was diagnosed with end stage renal failure and the doctors recommending kidney transplantation to save her life.

Hashina (Blood group ‘O' Positive) of 104 - 7A, Nathuduwa, Kelaniya was looking for a kidney donor as recommended by Consultant Nephrologist Dr. S. M. Seneviratne of the National Institute For Nephrology, Colombo 10.

But her brother has come forward to donate one of his kidneys and he is being screened for the process. Meanwhile the only course left for her survival is the three-days a week dialysis (in private hospitals) for which she has to spend at least Rs. 30,000 a week. They have spent all money and are left virtually penniless now. Her husband's income is barely enough to meet ends meet and finding this money has been a major obstacle for this family whose sole bread-winner (father) has also been diagnosed with a heart ailment requiring bypass surgery.
