New coordination Unit to process all circulars
By establishing this unit, the circulars in question could be examined and empowered in accordance with the current requirements
All circulars issued by the Ministry of Education for various purposes would be coordinated at the newly-established Circular Coordination Unit in accordance with the current requirements, Education Ministry Secretary Gotabaya Jayaratne said yesterday.
The new unit was declared open under the patronage of Minister Bandula Gunawardena at Isurupaya, Battaramulla.
Mr. Jayaratne said the Ministry had already issued more than 600 circulars and some of them had been issued 20-30 years ago, creating severe administrative issues. “By establishing this unit, the circulars in question could be examined and empowered in accordance with the current requirements. Through this system, the principals and the administrative officers attached to the provincial, zonal, divisional and Education Ministry could easily carry out their work without any inconvenience,” the secretary said.
He further said the circular coordination unit would help to establish a qualitative administration system in the Ministry. The Deputy Education Minister Vijith Wijeyamuni de Soysa and Senior Minister Athauda Seneviratne also participated in the event.
