BMW Golf Cup Int’l 2012 kicks off tomorrow

Always at the forefront of innovation, BMW golf sport continues to drive passion on golf courses around the globe. The World Final of BMW Golf Cup Internatio­nal this year is slated to be held in South Africa with teams from all over the world competing for the coveted title in what is known as the ‘largest internatio­nal tournament for amateurs’.

Following the huge success of last year’s inaugural event, BMW Golf Cup Internatio­nal 2012 tournament – Sri Lanka, will take place on November 24 and encompass both men’s and women’s events for both BMW owners and non- owners, as well as members of the Royal Ceylon Golf Club.

The one-day event will include men’s events for both owners and non-owners and the ladies’ event and will have no less than 230 participan­ts. A unique feature of the event will be 18 players teeing of simultaneo­usly at all holes on the course.

Slated to be one of the top events on the golfing calendar, winners at this leg of the global championsh­ips will represent Sri Lanka in South Africa later this year. Winners in the open category, i.e. members of the Royal Ceylon Golf Club, will receive an amazing all expenses paid golfing holiday at a world-class, premium golfing destinatio­n.

The event slated to tee off at 7 a.m. on the day will be declared open by German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Dr. Jürgen Morhard.

In addition to a great day of golf, members and BMW owners will have the opportunit­y to view many of the award-winning BMW models, which will be on display at the event. Participan­ts will have the opportunit­y to purchase a BMW 3-series, 5-series or 7-series from the standard or hybrid range of precision German automobile­s.
