Mobitel launches NFCenabled loyalty programme

For the first time in Sri Lanka, the national mobile service provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel launched an NFC (Near Field Communicat­ion)-based loyalty programme – the Club Magnate loyalty programme. This ground-breaking product is yet another innovative addition to the telco’s growing portfolio.

With NFC technology soon becoming ubiquitous in the global ICT industry – Mobitel takes pride in being the first mobile service provider to launch a unique loyalty programme like this. Club Magnate offers an array of benefits and discounts to its post-paid and prepaid customers through a comprehens­ive partner merchant network. Mobitel’s Club Magnate members simply have to produce their loyalty card to the respective merchant’s cashier which will be tapped on the NFC-enabled Payment Point of Sales (POS) machine to redeem the entitled offer.

The first rewards discounts via the Club Magnate loyalty programme was availed by a Mobitel customer at the Sarasavi Bookshop in Nugegoda.
