Canon opens Photo Academy

-

Budding photo enthusiasts and amateur photographers can now learn from the best by taking photography lessons and courses from the Canon Photo Academy set up by Metropolitan recently.

“We have taken this mighty step towards educating and enhancing the photography industry where we want to enrich those who are not only our customers but also those who are passionate about taking that perfect photo,” said Taslim Rahaman, CEO in charge of the Canon Camera division at Metropolitan Office.

The academy which was set up to serve and add value to the industry, will include preliminary course, certificate courses and advanced certificate courses that will include photo field tours. Courses will also include a skills examination to evaluate students.

Unlike other photo academies, this academy has the unique advantage of having the full range of camera equipment from cameras to lenses to accessories that students can try out as well as the photo printing equipment to learn the printing technology.

“We hope to make this a fully fledged well rounded photography academy with photo contests and access to photo imaging starting from cameras and lenses to photo printers, photo papers and other related accessories,” said Suresh Herath, AGM camera marketing division.

The Academy also has an impressive panel of photography experts who will conduct these courses. Amongst them are renowned photographers with more than a decade of experience locally and internationally. Some of them include Bandu Gunaratne, Shantha Gunaratne, Suda Shanmugaraja and visiting lecturer .Jino Lee of Canon imaging Academy of Singapore fame.
