Army Roshan arrested

Army Roshan, who is believed to be the kingpin in a large scale drug racket and also the leader of an underworld gang, and four of his associates were taken into custody together with a pistol, 14 cartridges and several knives, according to the Kohuwala Police

Two grams of heroin were also taken into custody from the mansion at the time of arrest.When questioned, the suspects had told the police that they were planning to murder a woman in Piliyandala who had collected money under false pretences from many people on the pretext of finding them jobs in Korea. They had also confessed to many robberies committed in the Piliyandala and Kohuwala police divisions, police said.

The police had also located jewellery worth more than Rs 400,000 robbed by them.

Police investigations were led by Mount Lavinia SSP Raveendra Karawita and ASP J.P.M. Jayalath and conducted by Kohuwala OIC, IP Chaminida Edirisuriya on the directions of Colombo South DIG Sumith Edirisinghe.
