Tanglin Rugby Club juniors to tour SL for three games

The Tanglin Rugby Club Under 16 team known as the TRC Islanders from Singapore will be making a short tour of Sri Lanka where they will play three matches against three prominent rugby playing schools in the island.

The TRC Islanders comprises of a squad of 36 including the coach and officials is expected to land in the island early morning on February 9 and the arrangemen­t of the tour is being handled by Ceylon Roots (Pvt) Ltd.

According to sources the Tanglin Rugby Club have made arrangemen­ts to conduct an Internatio­nal 10 a Side rugby tournament for age groups from Under 13 to 18 to be held on April 26 and 28 in Singapore.

The Tanglin Rugby Club are expecting the participat­ion of many schools and clubs in Singapore, Australia, Dubai and Malaysia. The TRC Islanders will play their first match on the day of their arrival (February 9) against the Royal Under 16 team at the Royal Sports Complex. On February 10 they will lock horns with St Peter’s Colombo at Bambalapit­iya and their final match will be against Trinity on February 12 at Pallekele.
