Spinner Kavindu steers Richmond to final

Right arm off spinner Kavindu Ediriweera steered defending champions Richmond to the final of the Under 13 Division One cricket tournament with a five wicket haul helping his side record a thrilling nine run win over Ananda in the semi final encounter played at St. John’s ground in Panadura.

The low scoring game saw Richmond taking first lease of the wicket being restricted to a score of 123. Ananda in their turn was made to struggle for runs with Kavindu ending up with impressive figures of 5 for 13.

Richmond will now meet the winners of the second semi final between Thurstan and St. Anthony’s Wattala scheduled to be played at Kotte today.

Roya l‘B’ advance to final

Royal ‘B’ advanced to the final of the Under 13 Division Two cricket tournament with a 32 run win on the Parabola system against Vidyaloka Galle in the semi final encounter played at Panadura.

Vidyaloka chasing 173 runs for victory was making steady progress with the score on 98 for 1 in the 30th over when play was stopped due to heavy rain.
