A plan of an organised group to spread drug addiction among schoolchil­dren in Vavuniya came to light when two private bus drivers who had heroin in their possession were arrested by the Vavuniya Anti- ViceSquad. The two men were arrested on informatio­n gathered from schoolchil­dren travelling by bus who said the two men introduced students to drugs. One of the suspects was from Puttalam and the other was a resident of Tekkawatta in Vavuniya. The

suspects were to be produced before Vavuniya magistrate last morning. Police warn parents to be cautious about the possibilit­y of their children falling prey to such racketeers in dope.
