H One unveils new generation of Office 365

Sri Lanka’s businesses for the first time got a look at the new face of Office 365, Microsoft’s online cloud offering for enterprise­s, as H One launched its latest product recently. The new version of Office 365, which is based on Office 2013, comes with the added value propositio­ns included in Microsoft’s latest office package.

According to H One, a member of the Hidaramani group and a vendor of Microsoft, Office 365 is a software predominan­tly developed on a cloud-based platform. It brings together Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft Lync Online.

H One added that the newest version of Office 365 will revolution­ize the IT landscape of Sri Lanka by offering cloud services to not just large conglomera­tes but to businesses of all sizes.

H One CEO Samith Fernando claimed, “The new software of both Office 365 and Office 2013 spells a complete paradigm shift in the way IT operates in a business environmen­t.”

He added that a clear indication of H One’s success was being able to provide the most upto-date IT solutions to its high-profile client base i ncluding John Keells Holdings, Union Assurance and TKS Securities.

Speaking on the deployment of Office 365, the CEO attested that it is not an easy process.

“We need to look into the specific requiremen­t of each and every client,” he said. “Our team works hand in hand with our clients to familiariz­e them with our solutions.”

Speaking at the launch, Office 365 Product Marketing Manager Bindu Nelson echoed the sentiments of the CEO, saying that the strategy of the cloud was based on the feedback from their clients.

She highlighte­d some of the key benefits of Office 365, including easy access, substantia­l cost saving and simple set-up.

Nelson added that a notable feature of the product was its strict security policy, saying that the latest cloud service gave the clients the ability to share informatio­n without having to sacrifice security.

“We believe that the customer’s date belongs to the customer. We don’t in any way,” she assured.

According to H-One, the company has been working together with regional Microsoft teams to deliver the new Office 365 product to enterprise­s in Sri Lanka.
