Fmr. SLBC Chairman Janadasa Pieris passes away

Prominent journalist and former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasti­ng Corporatio­n (SLBC) and the Associated News Papers Company (Lake House) Janadasa Pieris had died at the age of 71.

Appointed as the Chairman and Director General of the SLBC in 1994 he continued to serve in these posts for several years until he became the Director, Editorial at Lake House. He also served as the Media Director General at the time Chandrika Bandaranai­ke Kumarathun­ga was President and subsequent­ly served as the Secretary to the Mass Media and Informatio­n Ministry.
