Marians My Wish Hadaka Pethuma on March 22

The“MyWish Foundation” has organised a charity musical evening titled‘Marians MyWish Hadaka Pethuma 2’at the Sugathadas­a Indoor Stadium on March 22 at 7 pm to raise funds for programmes aimed at providing financial and emotional support to terminally ill children and their families, especially hit by cancer. Marians is offering the show free of charge while veteran artistes including W. D.Amaradeva and Gypsies Sunil Perera will also join this charitable cause on a voluntary basis.Among the other singers who will be joining this worthy cause areVishara­da Deepika Priyadarsh­ani, Damayanthi Jayasuriya, Athma Liyanage, Romesh Sugathapal­a and others.

The foundation’s Chairman Nelum Arachchige said President Mahinda Rajapaksa had promised to provide a block of land in close proximity to the Cancer Hospital in Maharagama where the foundation plans to set up a centre for the benefit of cancer-stricken children and their families.

The wish of 12-year-old Maneesha who was stricken by cancer was fulfilled in February last year when she met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees. But she passed away a few weeks later.

Maneesha is among a large number of terminally ill children whose wishes are being granted by the My Wish Foundation, Nelum said.
