Sameera and Madura steer St Benedict’s to victory

Sameera Sandamal and Madura Madusanka steered St Benedict’s with a valuable 163-run stand for the fourth wicket helping the side to record a fivewicket win over Ananda in a first round match of the Under 19 limited over tournament played at Kotahena yesterday. Ananda taking first lease of the wicket made a score of 208. St Benedict’s in their run chase fell into deep trouble and were struggling on 8 for 3 before Sameera who made an unbeaten 90 with eight boundaries and a six and Madura (84 inclusive of seven boundaries and a six) came to their rescue.
