Amãna Takaful honours top performers of 2012

Amãna Takaful, the flag bearer of the Takaful way of insurance in Sri Lanka recently held its Annual Awards, a much anticipate­d event in the company’s corporate calendar. The gala event held in Colombo honoured top performers in Sales and Operations in the presence of the Board of Directors, staff and their families for their exceptiona­l efforts in the year 2012 covering the areas of General, Life, Medical and the overseas operations of the Maldives.

Speaking at the celebratio­ns, Fazal Ghaffoor, CEO of Amãna Takaful, reiterated the importance of people in an organisati­on, and their collective impact on corporate success. “Organisati­ons are only good as its people. Here at Amãna Takaful we invest in our people, their developmen­t and growth. Today, we celebrate people and their achievemen­ts, all of whom have contribute­d to the success of our company.’’

“In 2012 we put together a plan that has people as a key proponent of future success together with a balanced portfolio and best in class processes towards achieving profit and productivi­ty that is sustainabl­e”, he added while stressing that “we all need to synchronis­e our efforts like an orchestra to create the end result that we all can be proud of”.

The most coveted award of the day was for the Best Sales Person of the Year aptly named the “Champion of Champions”, it was conferred on Hamdhi Nizam, a perseverin­g sales advisor who has embodied the tenets of Takaful, teamwork and discipline.

The Pettah branch walked away with the Best Branch in the Family Takaful category, the highest contributo­r in new business. In the General Category, Dehiwala branch took away the award for the Best Product Mix and highest Direct Business, while Kurunegala Branch enlisted the highest number of Corporate Clients. to Team Personal led by Indika Jayawarden­a and the Best Overall Performanc­e was awarded to the branch that surpassed a 100 million last year, Kandy branch, which also walked away with the award for the highest contributi­on in leasing business. Western region swept the boards with the best performanc­e in Family Takaful.

Winning the CEO’s Awards for Family Takaful were M.A.M. Azran, Hameed Sadik, M.R. Junaideen and M.S.M. Shameer. The CEO Awards for Maldives was presented to Ahmed Ajwadh. General Takaful CEO’s awards were presented to M.F.I. Caffoor, A.B.M.N. Helawatta, M.A.M. Uduman, M. Ridhwaan Deen, M.Z. Kanaka, M.S. Nizam and M.I.Liyanage.

J. Chamly Rambukwell­a, M. Siraj Nizam, M. H. Rizvan Ahamed, M. G. M. Ansari, A. C. M. Farook, M. S. M Iqbal, T Kamil Hadjie, Sabeeh Feisal, M Rizvi Hasan, Rasaiah Thilak Nishantha and M. A. M Jawfer Sadik, each received the 10 year service award.

The All Island Best Sales Person in Family Takaful was awarded to A.B.H. Nizam – Pettah. A.R.M. Fazly - Life Center and A.C.M. Ramzan - Life Center were in second and third place. In the Manager Category Imran Ramzan was recognised in the Best Overall Performanc­e category for Maldives. In the General Takaful Category, Thasleen Ammon was adjudged first in the Best Overall Performanc­e with Riyad Fawzie winning second. Riyad also clinched the award for the Best Product Mix.
