-

Bridgwater College, a prestigious government-funded UK college (HTS) located in the South West of England, has appointed Supem Fernando Association (Pvt.) Ltd (SFA) as its regional representative for the South and Southeast Asia regions.

Most of the universities in the UK as well as in other countries choose their regional partner offices from Indian education companies (based in India) and this is the first time that a Sri Lankan education company gained regional status in the South and Southeast regions.

SFA was officially appointed at a press conference held at the SFA mini auditorium by Bridgwater College Senior Manager Wendy Dick, Head of International Department Marie Lizion and Head of Health and Social Care Department Maria Watts.

SFA is one of the leading education consultants and Migration Lawyers in Sri Lanka which has formed a remark- able agent network with other educational consultant companies. Some of the selected representatives and institutions appointed as Bridgwater College agents in Sri Lanka were also present to receive their certificates at the press conference, in celebration and consolidation of the partnership.

Bridgwater College has been working successfully with Sri Lankan students and was able to gain over 30 students from Sri Lanka within its first three months’ campaigns together with SFA for its most popular Level 3 Health and Social Care course with guaranteed work placement and part time jobs in care homes in and around Bridgwater, Plymouth, Birmingham and London (Slough), for the total cost of £ 3,700 for the entire 15-month course.

Students who have passed G.C.E. O/L with the IELTS 5.0 score and oneyear work experience in the health and care sector can gain this wonderful opportunity.

It was also revealed at the press conference that Bridgwater College will be looking at the Sri Lankan care home sector and support the government and care homes to upgrade their standard of services to international levels. Representatives of Bridgwater visited Rawatawatta Elders’ Home and are now working towards a fund raising project with their students to support this elders’ home.
