YMMA Convention to introduce new project

The All Ceylon Young Men’s Muslim Associatio­n Conference (ACYMMAC) based in Colombo has taken steps to introduce a new project island- wide in collaborat­ion with the Government institutio­ns by expanding its branches in the Northern Province including Kilinochch­i and Mullaitivu.

This was disclosed by the National President of the YMMA Conference K.N. Deen at a Press Briefing held on Wednesday at Hotel Ranmuthu, Colombo.

The YMMA Conference is to hold its 63rd Annual Convention on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the BMICH. Minister of Economic Developmen­t Basil Rajapaksa will be the Chief Guest and the Attorney General Dr. Palitha Fernando will participat­e as a guest of honour at the ceremo- nial opening of the Convention.

“Delegates from the member YMMAs discussed the programmes and the project implemente­d and the plans for the future over a period of two days,” the President N.K. Deen said.

He also said the Office Bearers would be elected at the AGM of the convention.

The YMMA Conference was started in 1950 and presently it has many branches islandwide.

Special Awards would also be given to the best performanc­es of the YMMA branches.

Senior Journalist Latheef Farook and leading businessma­n and Social worker Alhaj Zam Gem Refai will be honoured on the occasion.
