The Co-Convener of MFSAC, Najith Indika claimed the letters issued from the university administration also stated the suspended students had behaved in a manner not fitting an undergraduate while they were organising a protest march when a funeral was being held in the university premises.
“On June 5, the med- ical faculty students organised a protest march. On this day itself a ceremony was held inside the university premises to pay last respects for a lecturer from the Management Faculty who had passed away earlier that week. However, the protest march started from the Jayewardanepura University and ended at the Wijerama Junction. The students did not disturb the ceremony in any manner” Indika said.
