CMC TO PROSECUTE TWELVE SCHOOLS, FIVE OTHERS
Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) had taken a decision to prosecute twelve schools along with five other establishments in the City of Colombo that had been found to be mosquito breeding grounds.
CMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pradeep Kariyawasam revealed the names of the twelve schools that had been marked for prosecution as being Ananda College, Ananda Balika, St. John’s College, St Anthony’s College, Mattakuliya, Good Shephard Tamil Vidyalam, Kotahena, Zahira College, Colombo, Presbyterian College Colombo 10, Isipathana College, Hindu Boys School Bambalapitiya, Asoka Vidayala Narahenpita, C. W. W. Kannangara and Sujatha Vidyalaya Narahenpita.

There had been 1275 dengue cases in the Colombo City this year with four deaths also been reported. Deaths include a student of Law Faculty of Colombo University and a six-year-old girl, according to Dr. Kariyawasam.
