Suncity subsidiary to open Vauxhall showroom in Sri Lanka

Vauxhall Auto Mart (Pvt) Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of Suncity recently announced plans to open its new showroom for UK-based car brand Vauxhall.

The company will be opening its state-ofthe-art showroom located on Dharmapala Mawatha in June this year. The showroom will display three of Vauxhall’s most recent and aesthetica­lly beautiful models, the Mokka SUV, Corsa and Agila. “This partnershi­p with Vauxhall, one of the pioneering automakers in the global market will no doubt enhance our current automotive portfolio,” Pinsiri Fernando, Managing Director of Vauxhall Auto Mart said.

“The three models we will be initially introducin­g will highlight what the Vauxhall brand has delivered to consumers around the world for over a century and we’re extremely happy to bring this internatio­nal brand to our local market.”

Vauxhall started making cars in 1903. The company’s vision and philosophy has remained throughout 100 years of change and into a forward thinking era. Since manufactur­ing its first car- the 6HP in 1903, the company’s portfolio has grown to include a range of cars and vans.

With humble beginning as a bus body building company in 1954, Suncity has since expanded to include a wide collection of automobile­s. After the economy was opened in 1977, the company started importing used, reconditio­ned and brand new vehicles.

Fernando is the second largest share holder of Sathosa Motors, which holds the exclusive dealership for Isuzu vehicles.
