ITI workshop for Next Generation Information Professionals
The Information Services Center of the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) is organizing a two-day workshop on June 11 and 12 from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the ITI main auditorium. The workshop is on the topic “Rendezvous with your Professional Destiny: A Workshop for Information Professionals of the Next Generation”. The program is dedicated to the memory of Ms. Clodagh Nethsinghe, first Chief Librarian of ITI, former CISIR (1955-1994)
Informative presentations will be made by eminent professionals in the field to inspire middle level library professionals to think out of the box and develop professional skills in a world of ever changing customer needs. Presentations will cover the topics such as Winds of Change in the World of Information, Wanted: An Information Professional for the Modern World, Communication: A Critical Tool for Information Delivery, Marketing of Information , Assessing Tech Savviness of Information Professionals, Customer Service vs Disservice in Information Delivery and Exploiting Social Media to Achieve Organizational Goals etc.
The workshop will be interactive with interesting practical sessions including group activities to develop action plans for participants to move forward in the right direction at their own workplaces. It will be an ideal forum to network and synergise the pool of knowledge and experience among peers.
