Hopes peak for the Bradby

-

Beginning the Rugby season for 2013, Royal had three victories, three losses and a tie, while Trinity had five victories, a loss and a tie before both scrum down for the Blue Ribbon event of the sporting calendar of Sri Lanka s – the 69th Bradby Shield held on June 1, 2013 up in the hills of Pallekelle, where Trinity hosted Royal at the first leg of the game.

Royal led the game in a nail biting contest with 188 to take l emons. With much confidence Royal walked in for the second half, however they could not live long as the Lions came back hard on t he Tuskers.

Trinity went on scoring and recorded one of t he biggest victories by them (37-25). Over confidence along with a number of mistakes cost Royal much to lose by the final whistle. Royal are 12 points behind to face the second leg this evening (June 14). Trinity won the battle, but the war still remains.

It’s time for us to rise from the ashes and fight back to clear the deficit of 12 points and go on to win over the War! A two year wait has resulted in the thirst and hunger for the Coveted Bradby Shield.

So near, yet so far away… Not anymore brothers… Let’s fly the Blue and Gold flag up in the sky and win the Bradby with a great come back! Alongside you you’ve got the comrades who have been with you all through thick and thin.

For each and every drop of blood and sweat they shed till this fine day, rise to it! Thou shalt fight back hard even if thy limbs are weak let thy mind carry thee and thou shalt rip the heart of thy rivalry and leave them bleeding on the ground!

“I am coming back. I am coming back strong for a great stampede! The battle may have been won by Trinity, yet the War remains on the border.

It’s my time to bring glory back! The wait of two years has grown and so has the hunger and thirst to bring back victory to my soil! I am the master of my feet. I am the captain of my soul. I AM ROYAL!!!”

Brothers! What we do in life, echoes in eternity. No retreat! No surrender! We will stand and fight!

Rise from the ashes brothers! We will keep thy fame inviolate! Floreat…
