St. Sylvester’s outplay Dharmaraja
Dharmaraja College, Kandy slipped to another defeat and this time at the hands of St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy who beat them by six wickets in their schools under 17 Division one cricket tournament match played at Lake View Grounds, Kandy yesterday.
The main contributory factor to Rajans defeat was their batting as they put up a weak kneed display and taking first strike were reeling at 47 for 7 which became later 88 for 9 before their tail pushed them pass the three figure mark.
Sylvestrian medium pacer Harsha Madhushan though turning out to be expensive towards the end took 5 for 40, as the Rajans folded up for 119.
The Sylvestrians did not encounter much difficulty in reaching the winning post for the loss of four wickets.

Sri Sumangala College, Kandy scored an exciting 9 run win over St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala in their schools under 17 Division one cricket tournament match played at Central College, grounds, Galagedera yesterday.

Seetha Devi holds Stamford High to a draw
Seetha Devi Girls College, Kandy held Stamford High School from Great Britain to a one all draw in their girls’ hockey match played at the Nandimitra Ekanayake International Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, Matale yesterday. At half time Seetha Devi stickers led 1-0.
It was the home team which scored first through centre forward and skipper Sapni Guruge. The visitors’ equalizer came in the second half through centre forward Charlie Spite.
