DIMO launches new MercedesBenz A-Class
Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO), general distributor for Daimler AG in Sri Lanka, recently launched the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class, a five-door hatchback, which is the first to be introduced from the new generation of Mercedes-Benz car range.
The car will be available at Rs.8.1 million for permit holders and at a retail price of Rs.13 million.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a result of much research and testing done by Mercedes-Benz with Formula 1 cars, especially the A45AMG.
The new A-Class includes several safety features such as Adaptive High beam Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assist, Speed Limit Assist, Active Parking Assist with parking guidance, Brake hold function, Hill Start Assist, Reversing Camera and Distronic Pulse.
The new A-Class launch is in line with Mercedes’s strategy of launching a variety of new models that will appeal to the new generation of customers.
According to DIMO, these models enable Mercedes-Benz to reach out to a younger crowd with new entry level models such as the new A-Class, the new CLA-Class, the new GLA-Class and the new B-Class. Mercedes-Benz is lever- aging the technological advancements of its flagship models S-Class and E-Class to develop these new compact cars.
Meanwhile, alongside the new A-Class launch, DIMO together with Sampath Bank PLC relaunched the Mercedes-Benz card, Sri Lanka’s top most cobranded card with an upgrade to a Visa Signature Product.
This card was initially launched in 2003 as a co-branded Master card.
“MercedesCard cardholders will be entitled to exclusive privileges, which will not be offered to other Signature cardholders,” Sampath Bank Deputy Chairman Channa Palansuriya said.
He added that with the MercedesBenz Visa Signature card customers can now earn rewards in plenty as well as avail several exclusive offers, benefits and services.
“In addition, it includes an unmatched overseas travel insurance cover up to US $ 500,000, access to Visa Concierge Services and a dedicated website to obtain travel information and assistance. It also provides a high spending power with a minimum credit limit of Rs.750,000,” Palansuriya noted.
