One way traffic from Maradana Bridge to Sangaraja Roundabout

The City Traffic police noted that from 6.00 am today, a permanent one way traffic system will be in effect from the Maradana Bridge up to the Sangaraja Roundabout via Technical Junction.

Police said rehearsals had been conducted at different times last month and early this month and been successful. According to the traffic police, motorists travelling towards Pettah from Maligawatt­a Road and Armour Street will have to go along Panchikawa­tta Road and turn right by the Elphinston­e Theatre and then turn left at the Technical Junction.

Vehicles heading towards Maligawatt­a Road and Armour Street from the Gamini Roundabout and Punchi Borella will have to drive straight through the Technical Junction and turn right to enter Sri Sangaraja Mawatha.

elling towards the Gamini Roundabout and Punchi Borella from Pettah and the Court Complex area will have to go straight through the Sangaraja Roundabout and then along Panchikawa­tta Road to drive across the Maradana Bridge. Police have allowed motorists to enter the Court Road from Technical Junction and the Gamini Roundabout through the Bridge Junction.Vehicles coming out of Maligawatt­a Road will not be allowed to enter Armour Street by going through the Sangaraja Roundabout.

Instead they will have to go along Kettarama Road and Grandpass Road and then enter the main road.
