RAVI CALLS FOR BC PROBE ON KRRISH DEAL

UNP MP Ravi Karunanaya­ke told a news conference that a fraudulent deal was being hatched with Krish as the payment period had been repeatedly extended.

He said the company was given time till May 2013 and extended to July 15 later. “It has now been extended once again,” Mr. Karunanaya­ke said.

He alleged that a huge payment had been made by the company to a top government official and as such the Bribery Commission had to probe this questionab­le deal between the Government and the Krish Group.

Mr. Karunanaya­ke said the entire government machinery was riddled with blatant corruption while more than 64 ruling party Pradeshiya Sabha members being charged with various crimes including molesting women and children.
