Minister De Silva meets Indian High Commissioner
At a meeting with Indian High Commissioner, Minister and Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) Chairman Nimal Siripala De Silva said yesterday he was disappointed that the main opposi- tion United National Party (UNP), the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) were not participating in the PSC deleberations.

posed amendments to the Constitution and outlined its objectives as that of submiting proposals for changes to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution while consolidating national integration and sustainable peace among all communities in Sri Lanka.
The minister said the PSC was the best forum to discuss issues pertaining to the national question with all stakeholders and arrive at solutions through dialogue and compromise. “But sadly the opposition has ignored this opportunity,” he said. “The participa- tion of the TNA in the PSC is extremely vital to conclude the deliberations successfully and I hope the TNA and the UNP will take part in the proceedings at least at a later stage.”
