Entries for the Arugam Bay Surf Classic close July 20

Surfs up, as entries for the third consecutiv­e Arugam Bay Surf Classic for this year close on July 20. Surfers from all around Sri Lanka have the opportunit­y to take part in the only national surf competitio­n scheduled to take place from July 25 to July 27th.

Gracing this year’s event will be previous long board world champion Wayne; surfers island wide can now apply for the competitio­n to be held at the world famous Main Point in Arugam Bay.

Organised by Arugam Bay Beachwear in associatio­n with the local Arugam Bay Surf Club, the competitio­n aims to standardis­e and create an identity for the sport of surfing in Sri Lanka while creating an arena of opportunit­y for local surfers. While expanding the local industries of the area, the not-to-be-missed event adds to the developmen­t of the local tourism industry making Sri Lanka an ideal destinatio­n for surfers.
